Welcome to our Frequently Asked Questions page, where our closet design experts provide detailed answers to the most common questions.
Any design(s) you see on my website you'd like to purchase, simply add it to your cart and I will contact you within 2 business days to schedule a visit for measurement verification. If there is a design you need that isn't already available on my website, or you don't quite know what you'd like in your design, I am happy to set up a virtual consultation to discuss the project, ask you a few questions and perhaps have you take a few general measurements for me so I can provide a design and price. Once you're ready to move forward, the quote is signed, a 50% deposit is provided and I will visit for a measurement verification.
Yes, here! White is the basic option used in many jobs, with the option for upgrading to wood grains and even textured wood grains. There are also a number of options for door and drawer front styles, handles, hardware styles and finishes, and much, much more. This is all part of the design process. The design provided will fit your design style, home decor and monetary limits. Being open and honest about what your design preferences are and where your spending limits are is a great guide to providing you with the best design specifically for you.
Designs are typically sent within 3-4 business days. Once we've discussed our particular project, I can give you a better idea of when to expect a design and quote from me.
A consultation and the design itself are free. a revision is available upon request at the cost of a 10% deposit of the estimated cost. This helps mitigate confusion of a lot of back-and-forth between designer and client. The cost to do the work is based on the size of the closet or other area, and the nature of the design and components going into the design. A typical small reach-in closet can range $400-$1,000 and a typical large reach-in can be anywhere from $750-$2,000. A typical small walk-in closet can range from $1,000-$4,000 and a typical large walk-in closet can range from $2,000-$5,000. You can also see a variety of our designs for (mudrooms), (garages), (TV stands) and more. The largest closet I ever designed is not the highest price closet I've ever sold. This is where my questions about your design preferences and monetary limits are important.
Depending on the material selection, the lead-time is usually a minimum of 2 weeks and typically a week per $1,000 cost. For example, a $3,000 project is typically a 3 week lead-time; a $4,000 project is typically a 4 week lead-time, etc. The lead-time starts once the payment for the 50% deposit has cleared and a sign-off for the project is received.
Yes. The installers can remove existing shelving in the space and do some light spackling. This is discussed during the design process and specified on the quote. A referral for a professional painter is available upon request. If painting is preferred, it is strongly recommended that this is done before the installation begins.
While most installations are completed in 1-2 days, this is also a function of the size and complexity of the project and the nature of the space being upgraded. If material needs to be brought up flights of steps, or the installers are handling demo and spackling, the work will take longer than a smaller, less complex job without demo. This will be discussed and confirmed when an installation date is provided.
Yes, of course! I will need all details provided in the design, including materials used, door and drawer front styles, hardware selection and price, in order to provide as accurate a quote as possible. Coming summer 2024 — select designs on my website will be available as a “Diamond Edition'', in which all the available upgrades — heavy duty hanging rods, dovetail drawers with undermount slides, upgraded doors and drawer fronts, textured wood grain finishes, and more — will be included in the design and price. Think of it as buying a “fully loaded” car: a sport-tuned engine for more horsepower, faster responding transmission, leather upholstery, sunroof, top-notch sound system, etc.!
